More than 300 booster seats and 400 bicycle helmets provided to families across Alameda County
The AEG Oakland Community Foundation, alongside the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services Agency, proudly hosted Safe Kids Day on Saturday, April 25 at the Oakland Arena and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum complex. This annual event welcomed more than 1,000 families throughout Oakland and Alameda County, offering access to critical safety resources and educational opportunities.
Attendees received essential items such as diapers, over 300 booster seats, and more than 400 bicycle helmets, tools that help keep children safe. Families also engaged with more than 50+ community organizations and nonprofits, who provided interactive health education, live demonstrations, and injury prevention activities designed specifically for kids and their families.
During the event, Betsy Jacobo, Field Representative for Mia Bonta (D-18), was in attendance to commemorate the occasion and recognize the efforts of those involved. On behalf of the Assembly Member, she formally presented a Certificate of Recognition in honor of Safe Kids Day to selected members, acknowledging their commitment to promoting child safety and community well-being.
We are grateful to our committed community partners and generous sponsors for making Safe Kids Day 2026 such a meaningful success.
