NEWS: OAKLAND ARENA ELEVATES EVENT EXPERIENCE WITH INSTALLATION OF REVOLUTIONARY STAGE
An absolute game changer for Oakland Arena, the area’s premier event venue just made a significant investment towards the entertainment experience at the facility with the installation of the revolutionary, new TAIT rolling house stage, the first stage of its kind in any venue in North America.
Known as being one of the world’s most versatile staging brands with unmatched capabilities, Oakland Arena’s new stage is from the same stable as those used by the world’s top major touring artists like The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, and more, who typically tour with their own rolling stages as part of their equipment.
The new TAIT rolling house stage, specially designed for arenas, solves problems that other rolling stages available on the market have, saving significant time and costs for artists, partners, clients and the venue. Key features of the stage include the ability to roll while loaded with props, audio, video, lights and other essentials, flexibility in building different stage designs, simplicity and ease of maintenance, efficient storage and more.
“Uniting with the Oakland Arena team to bring the TAIT Rolling House Stage to our first North American venue is a monumental moment for us. This is such a prestigious venue, and working with this team has been a great partnership,” said James Chapman, director of business development for TAIT. “They are really pushing boundaries to diversify the experiences they can offer to fans, patrons, and the crews that visit here. Through this new relationship, we are already learning more flexible, and efficient ways the stage can be used, further helping us to evolve and enhance the system for all.”
“With the groundbreaking stage as a permanent feature, Oakland Arena will be able to attract more of the world’s top acts, increase the number of events and drive more traffic and revenue to the arena, resulting in greater impact on the local economy while also saving costs for the venue,” said Nicole Strange, general manager of Oakland Arena. “There is no other stage that has these capabilities and being the only venue in North America with one is truly exciting. The future opportunities and possibilities for its use are endless.”
Since opening in 1966, Oakland Arena has hosted thousands of top concerts, sporting events, comedy shows, and family events, such as Paul McCartney, Zach Bryan, Nine Inch Nails, Monster Jam and Disney on Ice, and welcomed millions of fans through its doors. Breaking records in recent years with multiple sold-out shows and a robust event calendar, the 19,000-capacity arena ranks as a top performing venue for Legends/ASM Global, the world's leading premium live experiences company.
Upcoming exciting events at Oakland Arena include performances by Laufey, Sleep Token, Brandy & Monica, and more. The full event calendar can be found at theoaklandarena.com/events.
