AEG Oakland Community Foundation Hosts Job Shadowing Experience for OUSD Students

This year, the AEG Oakland Community Foundation proudly partnered with Coliseum College Prep Academy in Oakland to give 30 high school senior students an inside look at the live entertainment industry. Throughout the day, students engaged with multiple departments, including Booking, Box Office, Events, Engineering, Guest Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, Premium & Sponsorship, Private Events and Security.

 

During lunch, our General Manager and Assistant General Manager met with the students to provide an overview of their roles and responsibilities, giving students valuable insight into the daily operations of a two-venue complex.  They both also shared the importance of networking and building relationships. 

 

Legends Global staff shared their personal career journeys, industry knowledge, and day-to-day responsibilities, offering students perspective on what it takes to bring live events to life. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about career pathways, required skills, and the variety of roles that exist on property. Staff members emphasized the importance of teamwork, communication, adaptability, and professionalism, key qualities that contribute to success in the workplace.

By connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences, this partnership not only inspired students but also equipped them with valuable work-readiness skills and a broader understanding of career possibilities within the live entertainment industry.
